YOUR PARTNER IN COMPASSION AND GROWTH

Hi! Welcome to Sound Mind Integrative Psychotherapy PLLC.

Therapy that’s grounded, wholehearted, and led with intention.

At Sound Mind Integrative Psychotherapy, we believe healing happens in safe, honest relationships—and that starts with the people in the room. Our practice is led by Dove Salerno, a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist with a deep love for people, a gift for truth-telling with tenderness, and a calling to lead a practice that feels like a hug.

Dove brings over a decade of clinical experience, ongoing study, and lived wisdom to her work. She personally mentors each intern on our team and carefully oversees every detail of care—so that no matter who you work with, you feel deeply seen, supported, and understood.

We’re a small, intentionally built team of therapists who care about doing meaningful work. We show up with curiosity, compassion, and a willingness to walk with you through the hard and the hopeful.

“I've felt, first hand, how my own life traumas, hardships and achievements were made beautiful in their time through the artful tag team of an awesome psychotherapy clinician and a brave heart.”

Dove Salerno, LMFT

Hi, I’m Dove Salerno, LMFT-S — Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Clinical Supervisor, and founder of Sound Mind Integrative Psychotherapy.

I’m also someone who deeply believes in the transformative power of showing up for your life.

I chose this path — both as a therapist and a practice owner — because these same roads have profoundly shaped my own journey. My own therapy process has blessed my life in ways that are hard to sum up on an "About Me" page. All of what goes into sitting on the couch is not lost on me. In sessions, I constantly have the feeling that it is an absolute honor for me to be in my client’s corners and walk alongside them.

A little of how I got here: Before becoming a therapist, I earned my Bachelor’s in Individual and Family Psychology from Loyola Marymount University in LA and began my career as a Lead Behavioral Therapist at First Steps For Kids, where I provided in-home and school based ABA therapy for children with Autism and provided behavioral coaching for their families. That experience sparked my passion for mental health and revealed the need for care that is not only clinically sound but deeply human — not cold or distant, but real and relational. At the same time, my own mama battled Young Onset Parkinson's Disease with medicinally induced Bi-Polar Disorder with psychotic effects (Schizophrenia). My journey in learning to understand and support her greatly informed my own need for grounding, mental health education and advocacy.

All of this led me to pursue my Master’s in Clinical Psychology at Azusa Pacific University, where I graduated with honors while balancing work as a restaurant manager and a school counselor. During that season, I married my childhood best friend, put down roots, and began building the kind of therapy space I wished existed... a unicorn, that wasn't stuffy, understood my need and could feel like an exhale to walk into  — one that welcomes people as they are and supports meaningful, lasting change.

I completed over 3,000 hours of clinical training under the wholehearted supervision of Laura Rothafel, LMFT, and became fully licensed in Texas (LMFT #204150).

Today, I have the privilege of running a group practice I wholeheartedly built and believe in. I continue to do the work I love — walking with clients through pain, growth, and healing with honesty, compassion, and care. I’m also a proud boy mama, and I understand the real-life balancing act of holding space for others while trying to hold it together yourself.

Supporting the clients and clinicians who are part of this space is one of the greatest honors of my life. I hope you found something on this page that makes you feel like you could belong and feel seen and supported here. I hope you stick around!

Madisen Johnson, LPC-A

Hi! I’m Madisen!

I approach therapy with a warm, steady, intuitive presence holding the belief that meaningful change happens when people feel genuinely supported, understood, and safe. My goal is to create a space that feels grounding and collaborative, where clients can explore emotions, make sense of their experiences, and build skills that truly fit their lives. I value connection, curiosity, and practical tools, and I tailor my approach to each client’s developmental stage, strengths, and individual needs.

My work is primarily grounded in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), with elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and narrative approaches woven in. Together, we focus on developing emotional regulation skills, increasing psychological flexibility, and reshaping unhelpful patterns and stories in ways that feel compassionate and sustainable. I am also mindful of how the nervous system plays a role in emotional experiences, and I gently incorporate body-based awareness and regulation strategies to support grounding and resilience.

I enjoy working with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, life transitions, relational challenges, and the impact of past or ongoing stress and trauma. I strive to help clients better understand their internal experiences while building tools they can use outside of session, in everyday life.

As an LPC-Associate, I practice under supervision and am grateful to be part of a team that values thoughtful, ethical, and heart-centered care. I view therapy as a collaborative process, one where we move at a pace that feels safe and supportive. My hope is that you leave sessions feeling more grounded, more clear, and more connected to yourself, knowing you don’t have to carry things alone.

For Kids to Hear:

Hi! I’m Madisen 😊

If you’re feeling worried, overwhelmed, or like your feelings are just too big, you’re not alone — and you don’t have to figure it out by yourself. My job is to help kids and teens understand their feelings and learn ways to help their bodies and minds feel calmer and stronger.

In our time together, we might talk, draw, play, learn calming tools, or practice ways to handle big emotions. There’s no “right” or “wrong” way to be in therapy — you can just be you. My office is a safe space where it’s okay to ask questions, share hard things, or even say, “I don’t know how I feel yet.”

What We’ll Do in Sessions

In our sessions, we might:

  • Talk about what’s been hard or confusing

  • Draw, color, or play games to help explain feelings

  • Learn calming tools for worry, stress, or big emotions

  • Practice ways to handle tough moments at school or home

  • Find words for feelings that don’t always make sense yet

I love working with kids and teens who feel anxious, stressed, frustrated, or stuck, and with those who want help feeling more confident and in control of their emotions. We’ll go at your pace, and I’ll be right there with you as you learn new skills and discover how strong you already are 💛

Kenedi Sevcik

Hi, I’m Kenedi!

I’m an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who loves working with both kids and adults, and I bring a blend of clinical sharpness, person centered approach and playful, grounded presence into the therapy room.

With elementary-aged kiddos and their parents, I use a calm, intuitive, proactive and playful approach that helps children feel safe exploring their emotions and helps caregivers build stronger, more connected relationships at home, especially in managing challenging behaviors and seasons. I want families to feel like therapy is a place where growth can actually feel doable and even enjoyable.

I also work with couples who are trying to reconnect in the middle of life’s messiness—new babies, demanding jobs, communication breakdowns, grief, and all the little things that build up over time. Together, we slow everything down enough to actually hear each other again.

Some of my deepest work is with grief, postpartum and prenatal mental health, anxiety, and OCD. Whether we’re navigating loss, adjusting to parenthood, or facing intrusive thoughts and patterns that feel bigger than you, I hold space with compassion and clear, evidence-based tools. I love the range of this work—one minute being grounded and playful with a child, the next helping an adult take a brave step toward freedom from anxiety or OCD.

At my core, I believe people thrive when they’re met with both warmth and intention. Therapy with me feels like a mix of gentleness, steady direction, and the feeling that you don’t have to hold everything on your own.

Maybe you’re navigating big changes in your family, a relationship that feels stuck, or emotional patterns that keep resurfacing. Maybe you're showing up for everyone but yourself. At Sound Mind, we hold space for the mess, the beauty, and the brave middle ground in between.

Our goal is to come alongside you with care that’s real, rooted, and led by therapists who are deeply invested in your growth. You don’t have to figure it out alone. You’ve already taken the first step—just by being here.

YOU’VE COME TO THE RIGHT PLACE

We know how hard it can be to ask for help—especially when you’ve been holding it all together for everyone else.
